Rehabilitation

Palm View Rehabilitation and Care Center provides in-house rehabilitation programs through a fully staffed team of speech, physical and occupational therapists to ensure residents enjoy maximum quality living.

Our therapy staff is cheerful and upbeat as they provide fun and effective therapy to allow our patient the maximum functional recovery. And we use an interdisciplinary approach to ensure all aspects of a patients care are addressed.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy focuses on activities of daily living; which include bathing, dressing, balancing a check book, and driving, just to name a few.

The term "Occupational" refers to the individual's job of living. Our occupational therapists work with patients and their families to work toward goals that the patient has, not just what the therapist wants.

Occupational therapy works to promote independence in everyday activities. This is achieved either by working with the patient to regain strength and endurance, or by modifying the tasks to allow the patient to still perform activities they previously enjoyed but in a safer environment.

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy focuses on both communication and swallowing deficits to assist the patient to return to their prior swallowing and speaking capabilities.

Our speech therapy team works in conjunction with the rest of our staff to allow the patient to eat and speak with dignity.

VitalStim Therapy

Palm View Rehabilitation offers VitalStim Therapy which is intended for muscle retraining of the throat muscles necessary for pharyngeal contraction.

Physical Therapy

Physical therapy focuses on a patient's mobility, lower extremity strength and balance. The physical therapy team at Palm View discusses mobility goals with the patient and family to allow the patient the highest level of independence and control.

Our physical therapists incorporate leg exercises, ambulation, transfer training and balance activities to assist out patients to their highest functional mobility status.
